We’ve compiled a list of some of the questions folks ask often but please always feel welcome to email us if you have other questions.

KITS:

Do kits come with instructions?

We prefer to offer simple printed guides with our kits as we want you to feel free to play and explore using our supplies. Every kit order includes a link to some stitch videos covering Fleur’s favourite stitches, this is sent in your shipping notification email.

Our One of a Kind Kits don’t come with a printed guide.

I am a beginner, can I do one of your kits?

As long as you can thread a needle you can enjoy creating with one of our kits. Our ethos is joy in the process and learning through play and exploration so if you haven’t done any stitching before you will need to be kind to yourself as you create. Kits partner well with Fleur’s book, The Untamed Thread or her online course Joyful Embroidery.

SHIPPING?

We ship worldwide and have been doing so for years now, so if you have a specific request nothing is too large or too much trouble, just email us to discuss.

Our shipping charges are based on weight and the region you are in. Original / Framed artworks sometimes have different shipping charges, this will be clearly noted if charges are different to the information below.

NZ orders under 1kg are shipped free of charge and a flat rate of $10.00 is charged for orders over 1kg

Australian orders are charged as follows:

0 - 0.5 kg $20.00 (example: 1x kit and 3x wools or a kit and a pack of art cards)

0.51 - 1.10 kg $28.00 (example: 1x book or a selection of items)

Over 1.1 kg $35.00 (example: book + kits + wools)

Rest of the World orders:

0 - 0.9 kg $35.00 (example: 2x kits and 3x wools or a kit and a pack of art cards)

0.91 - 1.10 kg $60.00 (example: 1x book or a selection of items)

1.51 - 1.50 kg $70.00 (example: book + kits + wools)

1.51 - 2.00 kg $100.00 (example: 2x books or a larger selection of items)

Why is shipping so expensive? Well, that is the downside of living at the bottom of the earth miles away from anywhere, the plus side is that all of our pricing is in NZD which often works out well with many foreign currency exchange rates.

How often do you ship? We are based in rural Aotearoa New Zealand so we aim to ship every Thursday and regularly more frequently. Our small business focusses on sustainability so we don’t aim to get things shipped the minute your order arrives, we aim to carefully, thoughtfully and slowly craft and curate your order, pack it well and send it with love.

We reuse, recycle and use compostable or paper packaging where possible for our packaging.

BOOK - The Untamed Thread

Can I purchase the book worldwide? Absolutely!

The Untamed Thread is distributed worldwide and available wherever great books are sold. We love you to support your local bookstore so please ask your store to order a copy in for you if they don’t have it in stock.

Books ordered via our website come specially wrapped and signed by Fleur.

ORIGINAL ARTWORKS / COMMISSIONS

Fleur’s originals are incredibly slow to create so it is rare to see them available for purchase on the website, if you do spot one we recommend nabbing it while you can.

Commissions are sometimes available, please email us for more information on whether Fleur is currently accepting commissions and the process for commissioning originals.

PRINTS

We have a range of limited edition & open edition prints available.

Limited edition prints come with a signed certificate of authenticity and are numbered in relation to their specific edition. Open edition prints are signed but not numbered.

We print on beautiful quality fine art paper or canvas and only reproduce prints with fine art printers.

Fleur’s originals are high resolution scanned to capture incredible stitched detail in the prints, so much so that once framed sometimes folks believe they are the original.

Framing can be arranged at an additional cost for NZ orders only. We can ship prints directly to your framer, please use their address in the shipping field.
