Stitched Textile Collage Retreat Information:

Join me to stay and create at the simply beautiful Atelier Clos Mirabel in SW France in March 2026.

A 4 hour train ride from Paris with transfers from nearby Pau arranged by the lovely Clos Mirabel team.

Indulge in fabulous fully catered accommodation, workshop with kindred spirits in the spacious studio and explore the region or simply rest and soak up the views of the Pyrenees.

Creative Retreat participants can expect to be taken on a joyful, generous, exciting creative journey with me as your guide.

This retreat offers you the opportunity to create your own contemporary stitched textile collage artwork using a variety of textile collage, embroidery and beading techniques.

Stitch is a beautifully slow and mindful way to create, we will embrace that ethos for our time together and enjoy taking our time to immerse ourselves in the studio while learning my methods for creating colourful, richly stitched textile collage works.

Inspired by the region and the Atelier we will all draw from an abundant selection of vintage & hand painted textiles and threads as well as my hand dyed wools to design and create unique artworks. A basic level of stitching is useful for this workshop.

Our group size is limited so that there is plenty of time for one on one guidance and support for you to develop your creativity at whatever stage you are at. My teaching style is informal and kind, thorough and generous, I aim to meet each individual where you are at in your creative evolution and support you with plenty of resources and gentle experienced guidance.

All materials are supplied and included in the workshop cost so all you need to do is arrive and sink into a week of creative bliss.

Accomodation and travel costs are not included in this fee. Travel insurance is recommended.

Taxi transfers from the local airport and train station in Pau can be pre-booked.

Please visit https://atelier.clos-mirabel.com/makers-retreats/stitched-textile-collage-retreat-with-fleur-woods to select your accomodation

I will also be staying at the Atelier and look forward to sharing the added experience of meals on the terrace, coffee in the gardens and stitching outside of the workshop time as we relax.

While a schedule is provided you may find that the topics organically move around during our time together as we progress as a group and individually however the timeframes for studio time each day will stay the same.  The studio will be available for optional additional untutored stitching time as you wish.

Tuition Fee $2500.00 NZD pp includes all materials.

This is your deposit portion of your booking with the balance due closer to the time or by payment plan as desired.

Testimonials:

It’s so fabulous to find a teacher who is so open to engage every single person in her course and make sure they are included. Open to teach all aspects of stitching even if that wasn’t part of set course. When you find a teacher who is so kind, open, friendly, supportive, it is infectious to learn!! Fleur is so generous in all she does, I didn’t think I could create, but after her online, and in person classes I’m stitching, making marks, and loving every minute. PS I have had a piece framed. - Kim E.

First of all, Fleur is one of the nicest human beings on the Earth. The entire five days workshop was so delightful to be in her presence. She went around the table, multiple times, helping everyone and talking to everyone about their piece. She set the tone for the workshop and it truly was one of the best workshops I’ve ever attended. It was a new art form for me and I’m definitely hooked. I can’t wait to begin another Fleur Woods project. I had flown from the United States to Australia for this workshop. It was well worth the trip. - Juanette Hewitt at Juanette’s Crafting Corner

Absolutely delightful class. Fleur’s ability to inspire and encourage enables you to grow and create. Can’t wait to attend my next class. - Jackie B

"Fleur has such a gentle & encouraging manner and is so very generous in sharing her skills and materials.  I went away from that first course so very inspired and have been on a stitch journey ever since.  I have gone on and completed a few more courses with Fleur and have loved every single one.  Each one I come away with a bit more knowledge and confidence in my ability as a stitcher.  I have made some things that no longer get stuffed in the cupboard unfinished but are displayed proudly in my home.  I now feel cheated if I have a day without stitching – it's a great calmer at the end of a busy day."

- Michelle B
